The Blessing House
The Blessing House was built more than 80 years ago for Stan and Jannette Hooker. Long time residents of Rocky Mountain House report that Stan, then manager of the Bank of Commerce, was a generous and kind gentleman, who helped many a farm family through tough economic times. Jannette was instrumental in founding the first Library in Rocky. We hope their spirit of community involvement and commitment to people will be honored in this home.
Our vision is for a place where families will be welcomed to discover choices and strengths for pregnancy, childbirth and parenting. Women will gather to support breastfeeding. Health and wellness will be a focus. The house has a separate suite which will eventually provide accommodation for midwifery students from Mount Royal University during their preceptorship placements with Blessing Way. There is also a raised bed vegetable and herb garden in the sunny backyard!
